Precious Moments

There are many precious moments in breeding and raising cats and kittens. But none compare to the time they are born. I want to share with you my amazing experience. My nephew, whom I am very close to, broke his femur 4 wheeling and had to have surgery. I knew my cat was close to having babies but I had to go visit my nephew. Well my cattery partner, Terrie, stayed and watched my big old pregnant mom, Crissy. Terrie told me the night before , "her milk has come in she will probably go tonight". So Terrie made sure her birthing place was nice and comfortable. The next morning I asked Terrie, "any kittens" Terries response "nope she is waiting for you". So I arrived home and started bringing my luggage in and checking on things. I asked Terrie, "where is Chrissy"? her response was "I just saw her". Well we started looking and there she was having her kittens! It seemed as soon as I walked in the door she started. So I stayed with her and she had 3. I had to leave for about an hour and a half and when I came back I expected for her to have had all the kittens. No!!! She had waited for ME!!! She wrapped her front paws around my arm and started pushing. The next hour she had 4 more for a total of 7 kittens. Needless to say, mom got a really nice treat.

While sitting with mom and the kittens I heard this noise. I got to thinking, what is that. I bent down to the kittens and listened. It was one purring. AMAZING! Not over an hour old and it was purring while mom was licking. Keep coming to my website and you will see pictures of the kittens as they grow. We have one that is polydactyl! Please share this wonderful experience with us!!!
